After studying Economics & Business Management for 4 years at Nottingham Trent University, I wanted a career in an organisation that provided development opportunities with a variety of social activities to get involved with. I also wanted a career where I have the chance to be a valued member of the team and learn from more experienced colleagues, which the Endsleigh Graduate Scheme offers.
What makes Endsleigh a great place to start your career?
The Graduate Scheme offers me the chance to learn about various parts of Endsleigh’s business and build a wide professional network of people to work with. The rotational aspect of the graduate scheme keeps me on my toes and helped me to acquire transferable skills. The Endsleigh University development programme provides me with the tools necessary to become an expert through a mix of online workshops and interactive group sessions. Furthermore, there is a strong support network I can use to achieve my CII, an industry recognised qualification.
What makes Business Market Facing Unit?
My Graduate Scheme route has given me the unique opportunity to be a part of two Market Facing Units (MFU); Broker & Specialist. My current role in the Specialist MFU has led me to support the Account Manager team in ad-hoc duties to working with the Senior Leadership team on strategic planning. The Specialist MFU is quite diverse and covers student markets to the website development team.
What makes the training and development side of the graduate scheme for you?
The Learning & Development team are experts on putting on interactive and engaging workshops that focus on my areas of improvement, which I highly benefit from in my day-to-day activities. The mentoring programme put me in contact with a member of the management team and we have worked together to potentially explore more sides of Endsleigh core operations.
Describe the culture at Endsleigh?
With recognition through programmes like The A-Lister award, Endsleigh’s culture is explained best through the 8 leadership behaviours. With regular social and sporting events, I have found a real work hard play hard atmosphere.
What makes Endsleigh the best place for you?
Although it sounds like a cliché, I really appreciate the people I work with. Throughout my graduate programme, I have found my colleagues are always willing to teach me new things and encourage me to implement new ideas. The onsite facilities not only give me the chance to work on my tennis serve but meet people outside of my department.
What advice would you give to undergraduates looking for a place to make their career?
It is common knowledge that the graduate job market is tough, but it is not impossible to find a graduate scheme. I liked how Endsleigh care more than just grades and focus on experiences you faced in achieving your goals; in both personal and professional life. Use the application process to express your personality and show your ability to demonstrate Endsleigh’s leadership behaviours.
