James De Lisle Wells
Independent Financial Adviser – EFIT
Before Endsleigh I worked as a Transport Manager at a transport company, but it wasn’t me. I knew a few financial advisers and decided that’s what I wanted to do too. I’ve now been here a year and I’m progressing through the exams. I’ve completed five of them and awaiting the results as we speak. Then there’ll be further training – a total of two years. I will be fully fledged in three months time, but there is continual training. After two years I will be fully qualified. A typical day involves going through my emails, catching up on the day ahead, scheduling in work, phoning new leads and contacting insurers. The best parts of the job are the training and the people. There’s a great atmosphere with good banter, and a group of us go running together. There are lots of challenges too: you have to get stuck in and can’t wait for work to come to you. And you have to dedicate a lot of your own time to the training and exams. If you are half-hearted, you won’t succeed. There has to be commitment from you out of work. I’d unreservedly recommend it here. In fact, I came here via recommendation!
